OUR AQUA BABIES
We are the proud owners
of five cute little fish called aqua babies. We actually started
out with seven, but two 
have since
myseriously disappeared. No corpses, no bones, no trace!! We have
also had an uninvited visitor.
One morning I woke up and found a slug slithering across the tank. Like, where did he come from? and how did it get in the tank? I didn't think that a 'slug' was part of the eco-system so he quickly was scooped up and deposited in the toilet!!!
I know there are a lot of people who think that the Aquababy fish tanks are cruel, ** but we have had them for a year now and it's amazing how clean and healthy everything living in it are. The snails living in the tank keep everything really clean. We have only had to clean the tank once so far. There is one fish that is the resident 'bully'. He likes to chase the others around the tank. I understand that is quite normal but I really don't like to watch him pestering the others. So anyway, when we were cleaning out the tank, Mr. Bully decided to go hopping across the table........ needless to say I was screaming while my mom was panicking trying to pick him up and get him back into the bowl. I guess that is his punishment for being a bully!
I am 10 years old and I
think if you are thinking of getting fish, this is a good way to
start because they don't require a lot of fussing. My question
is..... how cruel is it when you walk into most pet shops and see
fish swimming around in plastic cups???? These are the pet shops
that claim they boycott Aquafish systems because they're so
small.

**we are fully aware that there are a lot of people who do not agree with anyone purchasing these containers..... you are entitled to your opinion.........please do not send hate mail - this is a kids site and they are also entitled to their opinion ..... thank you...... (there are also pet shops that sell rats for snake food...........hmmmmm)
UPDATE>>>> As of October 2002, we no longer have any aquababies left. They all died, although many of them lived almost 2 years. We still have the tank and the snails are still living in it and the tank is still amazingly clean!
