How To Cook Yummy Cabbage Rolls




Best Cabbage Rolls

Preparation Time:1 ½ Hrs.

Ingredients "One"
1 ½ lbs. ground chicken or turkey
1 lb. ground pork
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tin mushroom stems and pieces
1/3 shredded green pepper
2 garlic cloves shredded
½ tsp. dry basil leaf
½ tsp. dry thyme leaf
¼ cup ketchup
½ cup shredded celery
½ cup shredded onion
1 cup cooked rice

Other Ingredients "Two" Added To Pan
  
1 large crinkly cabbage 
1 large can of sauerkraut
  Sliced onions
1 large can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
   Shredded cheese


1/ Mix all ingredients "One" together and you are ready to start making cabbage rolls

2/Remove leaves from the head, slice a layer off the leaf rib so that it is more flexible

3/Blanche the crinkly cabbage a few leaves at a time, in a covered container with ¼ cup water, in the microwave 4-5 minutes

4/ Each medium size leaf will make one cabbage roll, a large leaf may be cut in half to make two cabbage rolls

5/ Place some mixed ingredients into the center of the leaf and fold the leaf from four sides to make a cabbage roll

6/ Put a layer of onions and sauerkraut on the bottom of a roasting pan.

7/ Turn each cabbage roll over and place in the roasting pan

8/ Place another layer of onions and sauerkraut over the cabbage rolls

9/ Mix one large can of diced tomatoes with one can of tomato soup and pour over everything

10/ Cook with lid on and in the oven at 325 degrees F for 1 ¾ hrs.

11/ Take out, let cool awhile and then place in fridge overnight

12/ Next day before serving, cook at 325 degrees F for two more hours.

13/ Cover with a layer of grated cheese and place in oven to melt

14/ Remove from oven and let sit for awhile and then serve

15/Yummy!
