How To Care for your Coffee Plant
The Coffee plant is a beautiful plant and worth the extra effort and dedication in keeping it healthly. Taking care of a coffee plant has to be one of the hardest plants to keep healthy. Coffee plants do not tolerate changes in temperature very well or watering habits. Too dry or too wet, too hot or too cold will result in the leaves yellowing and dropping off. Use a larger pot to help keep the envirorment as constant as possible. I use a pot eleven inches by eleven inches, the larger the pot, the better. Use regular potting soil and place in a westward location; coffee plants do not like direct morning or midday sun. Water every Monday and Friday with 21 Oz. of filtered water. During Winter, add one extra glass of water because of the drier air. Place a note on a branch or near the pot to remind yourself on the watering days. A coffee plant does not like to be isolated, but enjoys human company. Just like us, the coffee plant enjoys the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, therefore a kitchen location is a good choice. Good luck, and enjoy your coffee plant.
