Enhancement Fashion Tips

To Create A Slim Look

1/ By choosing the right clothes you can create an illusion of slimness. Dark colors slim and elongate while bright colors enlarge and attract the eye. Choose color such as black, charcoal-grey and navy. The trick is to have the eye scan, rather than stop in one spot on your body.

2/ To look longer, wear solid colors from head to toe. Choose upper and bottom clothes that are the same tone, such as a gray sweater and slacks; this will make you appear longer and slimmer.

3/ Choose slim styled outer clothes. Choose coats with narrow collars, as this has a slimming quality.

4/ With skirts, tone your stocking to your shoes, not to your shirt; this will appear to slim your legs, making them look longer.

5/ Choose clothes that flow over you, rather than tight, sticking to you. Thin materials cover naturally, and gracefully.

6/ Dark tones create an illusion of vertical; causing a slim look.

7/ A bit of shoulder pad will add a little more height or length to your look

8/ For a slimmer look your hair should be shortened so it does not touch the shoulders; longer hair tends to make one look larger.

9/ The lower the neckline the better; wear open collar shirts and sweaters.

10/ Adjusting the length of skirts and tops as little as a quarter of an inch can produce huge improvements in looks; experiment for what looks best for you.

11/ Avoid choking, bulky clothing around your neck, such as turtlenecks and high round crewnecks.

12/ Avoid thicker bulky material like tweed, which will make you look larger.

13/ Avoid patterns, especially large patterns and prints because they shorten the look. Choose patterns where the prints overlap; this helps eliminate boring, unflattering spaces.

14/ Leave blazers, cardigans unbuttoned, this creates the maximum vertical line, for a slim look.

15/ Choose accessories such as scarves and ear-rings to bring attention to your face.

16/ Choose one piece dresses as they create a sleeker look than two pieces.

17/ Choose a slightly higher waisted dress so the waistline sits just below the bust line. This emphasizes the slimmest portion of your figure.

The Art Of Sitting
When you enter a room, select a chair or sofa that best suits your height and figure. If you are overweight and short, stay away from high spindly chairs, as they will leave your feet dangling and cause you to bulge over the seat. If you sit on a sofa with a wide and deep seat, it causes you to perch on the front edge; making you and others feel uncomfortable. If you sink fully into the sofa, you may require help to get off the sofa. A long legged person sitting on the front edge of the sofa has no other option, but to stick their feet straight out in front, or to jackknife if they seat all the way back into the sofa. Choose the correct sofa or chair as you enter the room.

When you go to sit down in a sofa, make sure the back of your leg touches the chair before you sit, then bend your knees as you lean slightly forward and gently lower yourself into the chair or sofa. Always maintain contact with the floor to promote balance. If the sofa has a wide deep style, sit first on the edge. then place both hands on the sofa, and with a lifting motion, position yourself the rest of the way into the sofa. If you tend to sit cross legged, change legs often to reduce red marks on your legs, and to promote correct circulation; which will also help prevent varicose veins.
