How To Use This Attic Vent Calculator.
This calculator is based on a ratio of 1:300
1 sq. ft. of venting for every 300 sq, ft. of attic flooring.
Enter length and width of attic floor in ft.
Attic venting is divided 50/50 between inlet and outlet
the soffit must allow air to enter into the attic.
Lack of Venting
Hot moist summer air in the attic, can cause roof sheathing to rot
and shingles to deteriorate.
Melting snow in the winter, can cause ice dams to form allowing
water to pool, backup under the shingles, and enter into the home.
Shingle warranty can be void if roof is not ventilated correctly.
