Building Hints
Choose your material for straightness. Trees growing near water makes the best material to work with. Pick a shady area with dense growth, the trees will grow taller and slimmer. Use a very sharp axe and trim away any limbs, bumps and inperfections. Taper all ends slightly, for a rustic look.
Adjust (notch arm-rest to fit legs. Bury all screw heads.
Assemble the seating area first; seat rails are spaced 3-1/2 inch apart ( start from center, work outward). Next make the A frame legs ( cross support of A frame is 9-1/4 inch from top of legs). Assemple the seat area to the A frame legs; screw together. Turn over bench and add the criss-cross supports; screw into place. Turn bench over and add the arm rests; notch arm rest to fit legs. Slip 8-1/2 inch seat center support into place and secure with screws. Place back rail onto arm rest; screw together. Place back center, upright support into place and screw into place; add angled support rails on each side of center support and secure into place with screws.
