HOMESTAY CONTRACT

Welcome to the Geddes Family Ho= me Stay!

It i= s our pleasure to host you in Canada and make your stay as enjoyable as possible while you study, and interact with Canadians.

This contract defines the terms of agreement between you, the home stay student,= and your home stay hosts.

Plea= se read this contract carefully. By s= igning this contract, you agree to the terms and conditions listed below. Please ensure you understand this document, and if necessary seek out a translation service or assistance from others.

Obligations of the Home Stay Host

By w= ay of this contract, the home stay host agrees to:

= 1.&n= bsp; Welcome the home stay student as a member of the family.

= 2.&n= bsp; Invite the student on family outings (picnics, camping, travel, etc.).<= /span>

= 3.&n= bsp; Provide clean, comfortable accommodations to the student.

= 4.&n= bsp; Provide furnished accommodation in a private, single room as defined in this contra= ct.

= 5.&n= bsp; Provide a house key and security access codes for the student

= 6.&n= bsp; Provide adequate & nutritious food as defined in this contract.

= 7.&n= bsp; Provide transportation for the home stay student to and from the airport.

= 8.&n= bsp; Provide the student with a copy of the house rules.

= 9.&n= bsp; Provide easy access to a washroom.

= 10. = Sign and discuss this contract = with the student upon arrival.

Obligations of the Home Stay Student

By w= ay of this contract, the home stay student agrees to:

= 1.&n= bsp; Abide by the laws of Canada and your home country.

= 2.&n= bsp; Respect the host, their family, and all property.

= 3.&n= bsp; Follow the house rules defined by the host.

= 4.&n= bsp; Have current and complete medical coverage while in Canada.

= 5.&n= bsp; Participate in activities, and have fun with your hosts.

= 6.&n= bsp; Abide by the requirements of your school or institution.

= 7.&n= bsp; Inform the home stay host of any allergies, medication, and special needs

= 8.&n= bsp; Provide complete contact information in Canada, as well as in your home country.

= 9.&n= bsp; Pay the fees on time, as defined in this contract.

= 10. = Sign and discuss this contract = with the home stay host upon arrival.

Accommodations

The = Geddes Family Home Stay provides accommodations in a 2 level, single family, detac= hed home. There are two kitchens, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, upstairs living area, downstairs media/craft/tv room, storage, and outside patio with covered dec= k. The yard is extremely large with a huge garden, and greenhouse. There are t= wo rooms available:

Fees & Rates

The = Green Room is offered at $650.00 per month.
The Brown Room is offered at $700.00 per month.

Both= rooms include a continental breakfast and dinner meal.
An optional 3^rd meal is provided for an additional $100 per mont= h.
Optional laundry service is provided for an additional $50 per month.<= /o:p>

Fees= are payable on the day of arrival, and on that same day monthly as your stay progresses.

Airp= ort drop-off and pickup is provided, or transportation will be arranged, free of charge. Transportation outsid= e of family events and activities, or airport drop-off, must be paid by the stud= ent.

Late payments are subject to a 10% surcharge.
Fees are payable in Canadian Dollars.

Meals

Brea= kfast during the week is provided in the “continental” style. The stu= dent will have a variety of foods to choose from – muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, juice, milk, coffee, tea, etc.

Week= end breakfasts may be the same, but can also include Canadian style pancakes, w= affles, bacon, eggs – or Asian style noodle soup, etc.

The = evening meal (dinner) can be food from a variety of cuisines – Canadian, Asia= n, Indian, European, etc. We try to mix up our meals to eat a variety of prote= in sources (Beef, Chicken, Fish & Seafood, Pork, Tofu, etc.), fresh vegeta= bles from the market and our garden, and an energy providing carbohydrate – noodles, pasta, bread, rice, etc.

The = optional lunch meal is generally prepared the night before, using ingredients from t= he dinner meal, or a prepared sandwich, soup etc.

If y= ou require special diet accommodations, or have allergies – please inform your host immediately upon arrival.

Hygiene & Sanitation

Stud= ents are expected to maintain their rooms in a tidy state. Shower facilities are provided and students are expected to make regular use of washroom faciliti= es and clean-up after doing so. Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap is to be purchas= ed by the student. Toilet paper is provided by the host.

Dish= es are done daily, using a dish washing machine. Students should ensure that any dishes they use are loaded into the washing machine to be cleaned and put a= way by the host. It is expected that the student clear their dishes after a mea= l, and tidy up any messes created.

Dirty laundry (including shower towels and bath cloths) should be placed in the laundry bins provided. The student is expected to make use of the laundry facilities to ensure they have adequate clean clothes, towels & cloths. Laundry Soap, fabric softener and dryer sheets are provided free of charge.= An optional laundry service is available for an additional $50 per month.

House Rules

= 1.&n= bsp; Local calling is unlimited and provided to the student free of charge.=

= 2.&n= bsp; Long distance calling is permitted only with calling cards purchased by the stud= ent.

= 3.&n= bsp; The student will be present at normal meal times, or prepare meal(s) themselves= .

= 4.&n= bsp; Over-night guests are not permitted without consent of the host.

= 5.&n= bsp; If the student plans to leave, or return outside of the hours of 7am to 10pm, = the host must be notified.

= 6.&n= bsp; Smoking is not permitted in the house.

= 7.&n= bsp; The casual consumption of alcohol is permitted only if the student is of legal drinking age (19). Drinking to excess may result in termination of contract= .

= 8.&n= bsp; The home stay student must abide by all local laws and regulations.<= /span>

= 9.&n= bsp; The possession and/or use of illicit drugs will not be tolerated and will resul= t in termination of contract.

= 10. = The home stay student will keep= the host informed and updated on all contact methods included parental phone/em= ail and personal phone/email.

= 11. = The home stay student is respon= sible for any loss or damage caused to the home stay property.<= /p>

= 12. = The student is expected to pay = for all items not explicitly provided by the host and detailed in this contract (personal care items, long distance calling cards, activity expenses, taxi, extra meals or snacks, school equipment, clothing etc.)

= 13. = The student must have current a= nd complete medical insurance coverage.

= 14. = The home stay host is not respo= nsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items belonging to the student.<= /span>

= 15. = Violation of any Canadian laws = will result in contract termination without refund.

= 16. = Breaking of any of these rules = may result in contract termination without refund.

= 17. = The home stay student must keep= their room neat and tidy.

= 18. = The home stay student will term= inate all mailings related to bank accounts, cell phone services, school, etc. be= fore leaving Canada.
