A metalworker's shop in the bazaar, Esfahan. They forge the metal, coat and
decorate it here. There was everything from tiny ornaments, to decorated plates,
and cauldrons so large I could have stood inside them. The sound of pounding
metal, from all the different shops, was everywhere.
Genetic experimenting gone wrong... someone selling the result at the side of
the street, Shiraz.
Shoes for sale, Shiraz.
The gate to Persepolis, the ancient capital of the Persians around 500BC, not
far from Shiraz. There was graffiti carved into this gateway that was 100-150
years old. It was from members of British army units, trading companies, and
so on, it was really interesting.
Crumbling old pillar, Persepolis.
Griffens, Persepolis.
The remnants of the Palace of 100 Columns, Persepolis. Doesn't this picture
just LOOK hot, this was a scorching day in the semi-arid desert. Me and two
travel companions were almost the only people silly enough to be out there in
the full heat of the mid afternoon.
