LIFE RESIDENT PASSES.
OAKVILLE, March 17.--Jackson Charles Hardy, a life-long resident of the district, died Friday in his 87th year. Mr. Hardy was an early pioneer in the locality, and has been an active farmer until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a life-long member of Sheridan Methodist Church. His wife, Sarah, predeceased him by 30 years. Two sons, John A., of Oakville, and William C., of Salvador, Sask., and one brother, George H., survive him."

A pretty, house wedding took place Saturday evening when Cecelia Jean MacKinnon became the bride of Ivan Carpenter Hardy. The bride is the daughter of Mr. W. A. MacKinnon and the late Mrs. MacKinnon, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hardy of Oakville. The ceremony was performed by Dr. J. E. Munro and Miss. Isabel Anderson played the wedding music. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of cream chiffon velvet, made on straight lines with a slit skirt. She also wore a light-fitting jacket, made with fitted sleeves. A Juliet cap covered her hair and she carried a bouquet of Talisman roses. Mrs. Norman Wrong and Miss. Betty Carr were bridesmaids, gowned alike in powder blue chiffon velvet, and carrying Johanna Hill roses. The best man was Mr. Ted Sharpe. The groom’s mother received with the briday[sic] party and wore a gown of black chiffon velvet trimmed with cut steel beads. She wore a shoulder corsage of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. Hardy left later for a trip to Montreal and the Adirondacks. For travelling the bride wore a brown suede cloth coat with kolinsky squirrel collar. They will live in Toronto."
