The bride, who was attired in cream lustre, trimmed with silk and lace, with wreath and fall, and carried a lovely bouquet of flowers, entered the church leaning on the arm of Councillor H. Rogers, her brother, who gave her away. The bridesmaid was Miss. M.J. Campbell (sister of the bridegroom), who wore a dress of pale blue silk and cashmere, with a hat of black chiffon with tip, and carried a bouquet of choice flowers. She also wore a gold bracelet, the gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Tom Preece, of Monmouth. At the same time the marriage of Mr. Robert Were Carpenter, late of Castle Square, with Miss. Sarah (Sally) Rogers, youngest daughter of the late Mr. Edwin Rogers of the Wheat Sheaf Inn, was solomnized. The bride entered the church leaning on the arm of her brother, Mr. Robert Rogers, who gave her away. She was attired in cream lustre trimmed with lace and silk and carried a lovely bouquet of flowers. The bridesmaid was Louie Rogers, sister of the bride, who was dressed in pale blue silk and cashmere, and wore a hat of black chiffon with tip, and also a gold bracelet the gift of the bridegroom. The best man was Mr. Frank Carpenter, brother of the bridegroom. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends. Both ceremonies were performed by the Reverend L.H. Nicholl, and the two happy couples left the church amid showers of rice and confetti. Breakfast was laid at the Wheat Sheaf Inn after which the parties left by the 1.14pm train for Aberystwyth for the honeymoon. The brides travelling dresses were of navy blue. The presents to both couples were numerous and costly."

FRANK CARPENTER - On November 03, 1974 at the Health Sciences Centre, Frank Carpenter aged 94 years, beloved husband of Edith of 209 Handsart Blvd. Mr. Carpenter was born August 01, 1880 in Devonshire, England. He is survived by his loving wife Edith; daughter Mary and sister Sallie of Toronto. He was predeceased by a daughter Lenore in November 1937 and a son Frank, killed in action at Dieppe. Mr. Carpenter was employed by the T. Eaton Comapany for 47 years retiring in 1947. In appreciation of his efforts as chairman of the Flood Disaster Services Committee of the Manitoba Division of the Red Cross, he was appointed an Honorary Vice-President in 1951. He worked on the Board of Patriotic Salvage Corps and The Chinese War Relief. He was a Councillor for the Town of Tuxedo for four years commencing in 1950. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Anglican Church, Memorial Fund. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6 in St. George's Anglican Church, Grosvenor and Wilton. The Reverend Dr. Arthur Thompson officiating. Interment in St. John's Cathedral Cemetery. The Thompson Funeral Chapels in care of arrangements, 783-7211. Pallbearers will be: Messrs. W.F. Einarson, J.F. Baldner, H.W. Cooper, I.R. Dennis, W.A. On February 6, 1975 after a lengthy illness at the Health Sciences Centre, Mrs. Edith Carpenter, aged 88 years, of 209 Handsart Blvd., Tuxedo. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Cannington, Ont. in 1886 and was a long time member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Edith Lenore Carpenter, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, 233 Hertford boulevard, Tuxedo, died Friday night. She was born in Toronto in 1915, had resided in Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg, coming to this city in 1928. She was an adherent of St. George's Anglican church. Surviving are the parents, a sister, Mary at home and a brother, Frank, Jr., of Montreal. The funeral will take place from Thompson's Funeral home, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial in St. John's cemetery.

Funeral service for Miss Edith Lenore Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, who died Friday night at the family residence, 233 Hartford boulevard, aged 22, was held Monday afternoon in the J. Thompson chapel and was conducted by Canon Henry D. Martin, rector of St. George's, Crescentwood. Burial was made in St. John's cemetery. Pall-bearers were: G.A. McNeill, F. Fenwick, B.W. Matthews, T. Mackay, G. Hawley and G. Hughes. Many university students and members of the staff of the T. Eaton company were present at the services."
