Clarence Edward JONES

1Death Notice/Obituary, 2003.
"HUDSON BAY POST-REVIEW, Tuesday, December 2, 2003.
JONES--Mr. Clarence Jones passed away peacefully at the Northcrest Care Center, Delta, B.C. on Monday, November 17, 2003. Born on April 5, 1914 Clary was 89 at his passing. Clary was born to John and Hilda Jones at Pelly Saskatchewan.

Clary was predeceased by his wife Emily but is survived by his seven children: Allan (Pat) Chase of Tacoma, Washington, Wilma (Dave) Houston of Burlington, Washington, Ken (Sarah) Chase of Campbell River, British Columbia, Frank (Alma) Chase of Edmonton, Alberta, Adrian Chase of Dryden, Ontario, Shirley Cooke of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Garnet (Judy) Jones of Langley, British Columbia, in addition to 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Eliza and Amy, two brothers Wes and Earl and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Clary spent the early part of his working life working on his farm, north of Hyas, Saskatchewan. In the early 50’s he moved to Prairie River, Saskatchewan where he once again took up farming, as well as owning and operating a land clearing and road building company. In the winter he spent a number of years in northern Manitoba operating sawmills. Following his wife’s illness in the late 60’s Emily and Clary moved to the Okanagan, and following Emily’s passing Clary moved to Sechelt, BC.

Throughout his lifetime Clary always appreciated the work and support of his many friends and family. His most enjoyable time was always when family came home to visit, even if it was during the busy harvesting season when he always managed to find work for the “visitors”. Dad will always be remembered as one who felt pride in his family, regardless of their chosen road in life. He will be dearly missed by all.

The family wish to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Northcrest Care Center for the wonderful care and attention they gave Dad during his time of residence.

Following cremation a memorial service was held on Friday, November 21, 2003, at 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 72nd Ave, Surrey, BC."
