THOMS--Lorrin H. Born May 4, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away April 30, 2007 of cancer in Langley, BC. Lorrin was predeceased by his son Don. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie, two sons, Doug and Dave as well as 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. No formal service will be held. EVELYN (HERVELINE) TOHMS (nee CHARTRAND) 1917 - 2008 Evelyn passed away peacefully on February 3, 2008, at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, who she called her guardian angels. Evelyn was a very special auntie. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry Tohms (1993), her parents Joseph (1952) and Marguerite (1968). She was also predeceased by her four sisters Amanda, Alice, Marie and Jeanne; three brothers Philippe, Simon and Octave. Evelyn was born in St. Laurent, Manitoba, on July 4, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite (Lavallee) Chartrand. She spent her youth and was educated in St. Laurent, Manitoba. Evelyn left home and worked in Winnipeg at Hospice Taché for many years and then at the Woman's Pavilion as a dietician until she retired. A special thank you to the staff at Deer Lodge for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008, at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road, with viewing at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Evelyn's memory to a charity of choice. May she rest in peace with her Henry who she missed very much.
