In the name of God Amen. I Hugh Badcock of Meadhayes in the Parish of Cadeleigh in the County of Devon Gentleman being of sound mind memory and understanding do make my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker and my body to decent Christian Burial And as to such worldly goods and effects as it has pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of the same as follows

I give to William Badcock my Nephew the son of Michael and Joan Badcock the sum of Ten pounds of Lawful English money I give to James Badcock of the City of Exeter Victualler who now lives at the sign of The Coach and Horses there the sum of Twenty pounds of like lawful money I give to my Nephew William Roberts of Halberton in the said County of Devon Yeoman the like sum of Twenty pounds and my Will is and do hereby order and direct that the Legacies so given by me as aforesaid shall be paid by my Executor hereinafter named in Twelve months next after my decease I give to my Servant Mary Jerrard a Suit of Mourning and to my Apprentice John Squire a Suit of Mourning to be paid for by my said Executor

And whereas I have contracted and agreed for the purchase of a certain Estate in the Parish of Cadeleigh aforesaid called or known by the name Yet (Yate) but owing to some difficulty arising as to the Title of the said Estate the same is not yet conveyed to me Now I do hereby devise and bequeath unto my Nephew Hugh Roberts all my right and interest in or to the said Contract And also my lands and Real Estate together with the whole of my Goods Chattels Credits and personal Effects whatsoever And Ihereby make name constitute and appoint the said Hugh Roberts sole Executor and residuary Legatee of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made and I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 19th day of July 1825
