Note: the WERE - CARPENTER genealogy presented herein is based on Alan Buckley's work, continuing the family history research passed down to him by Margaret Eleanor (Peggy) Were (b.1925 d.1991), a 2C1R to Alan. It also contains major contributions from John Carpenter, Phyllis Caldwell and Brian Carpenter. A hard copy of the database was mailed in 1998 to Elizabeth Slater who improved & extended it. She then forwarded the data electronically to Gordon Gibson on Nov 03/01. Further extensions were received from Barbara & Paul Mather on Jan 06/02, Keith Jeffery on Mar 06/02, Kelvin Roberts on May 12/02 and Judy Ife on May 17/02.
