The regular series of dolls were first released in 1980. The
first edition dolls included Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin,
Huckleberry Pie, Apple Dumplin', Apricot, and foe Purple Pieman. These first
edition dolls had flat hands and did not come with pets except Apple Dumplin',
Apricot, and the Purple Pieman.
Sometime between 1981 and 1982, the second edition was
introduced with curved hands and pets. New friends (and a new foe) were also
introduced at that moment. This would be the rest of the Strawberry Shortcake
dolls you see listed below.
