Diamonds on Silver Bead Fringe
This fringe took me by surprise. Again working with the favoured
zigzag edge, I wanted a very elegant design. Once started, though,
I worried that it would come out boring or plain. (It's difficult
to envision exactly how a fringe will look: I have to get at least
a few inches into it to really get a sense of how well it will come
out. With this one, I couldn't really see it until it was almost finished!)
To my delight, once I saw it around some hips, it really came to life,
and I could see how striking and beautiful it was. There is something
in the simple grandeur of it that catches at my heart.
I think it must be the wonderful colour quality of the faceted beads
that really makes it special.
The 32.75 inches* of this beaded fringe took 66 hours to make.
