After getting rid of town and council, and hiring a full time engineer, Grande Cache was able to complete its $20 million swimming pool without raising taxes.

During his last job as co-ordinator of recreation, culture and heritage in Grande Cache, Alta., Phillips said he spent much of his two years on that job working to ensure a new $20-million aquatic centre was built there.
When he went to visit his two children in Grande Cache several weeks ago, that project was 75 per cent complete????, which brought a huge smile to his face.
"If they can get a project like that built in Grande Cache, we can do it here in Barrhead, he said. "Both towns are very very similar in terms of population profile and both were dealing with run-down pools that needed a major upgrade.
"The only big difference is the leaders of the town in Grande Cache had
gone down the road about building a new facility many times over many years,
only to see it turned down numerous times. When I got there, staff were demoralized???
and community reaction was very negative???, but we changed things around and
we got this project done."

What's Next? Mayor Frentz builds 2nd Cop Shop without addressing parking and access issues???:
The following is a public hearing for rezoning highway commercial land. The land is intended for travelling public use(tourism). However Mayor Frentz wants it to be used for a government building. There are no long term jobs created. Just guaranteed income for the bank and the few investors who build the project.
The town may face another problem with parking and access issues due to bottleneck traffic due to the rezoning of this land near the highway.
Please attend the meeting and present your views on the error being made by town and council. The same error was made previously by allowing large trucks to park in the town center.
