Rise up
and condemn imperialist war and plunder!
One year after the invasion of Iraq, US led
troops have left massive destruction in their wake. Despite promising
to bring democracy and equality for the women of Afghanistan and
Iraq, the US led wars of aggression have destroyed people's homes,
their means of livelihood, factories, water systems, power plants,
communications, office buildings, hospitals, and other infrastructure.
Women have been especially hard hit. According to a recent report
issued by the UN, non-combatant women and children make up 70%
of casualties in modern armed conflicts. more...

International
Women's Day Statement
Today, on International Women’s Day 2004,
we mobilize to advance the struggle for women’s liberation.
We remember and honour our militant sisters - immigrant garment
workers -who came together in New York more than a hundred years
ago to protest their inhumane working conditions. We draw inspiration
from their historic struggle and honour them every year on this
day as well as the continuing resistance of marginalized and working
class women. We take this opportunity to remind ourselves that
it is women in the Third World who suffer the most from the institutions,
policies and practices of imperialism. As women in the First World,
we stand in solidarity with them while advancing our own struggles.
