There will be 8 event sessions... four in the morning and four in the afternoon on a rotation basis. Organise for your Adults and Venturers to run these events.

·         Please email a list of names of each separate scout patrol that will be participating in the event as soon as it is finalized. This can be changed if need be after your arrival, but saves us typing in 500 names on site. Email: thegreatescape@telus.net

·         Camping areas will be marked in rows radiating like spokes from the H.Q. and Portapotties area, in a manner that should reduce the need for participants to shortcut through others campsites. Please ask your group to respect others campsites and walk around them.

A note from Doug MacDonald, Executive Director of Scouts Canada Chinook Region, says:

"Scouting takes our duty of care for youth very seriously.
There must be no youth participating that aren't Scouts Canada members except Girl Guides who we have a reciprocal agreement with so they don't need hold harmless agreements. We can't provide duty of care to youth who aren't members - meaning their application and fees have been submitted to the council office.
That leaves a few parents and resource people who aren't members. As event organizers, you are responsible for making sure that the screening and supervision outlined in BP&P Section 3000 is followed. Since these adults are at camp overnight, they must provide a PRC clear of criminal convictions. We'll need their applications in our office at least a week in advance to get them processed.
I know this sounds like a lot of work but our duty of care is job 1 for all of us.

Doug"
