Introduction
2005 was a year of ups and
downs. I worked hard, traveled lots, and
experienced a lot of new things. There
was not a whole lot of time to play, but I did put in my fair share when
opportunity struck. I start off this
blog with a tribute to one of my mentors and then end off with what I love
best: boardgames.
Jean Lyons
I never had her as a piano
teacher, and she remembers little of me, but I did attend her music
appreciation clubs for musical activities when I was young. She had a mean-looking demeanor, but that was
all from an eight year-old perspective. =)
Nevertheless, Jean Lyons School of Music was a part of my childhood and
to see its proprietor and founder pass away is similar to a knife in the
heart. It feels as a double-loss. The first loss being Jean Lyons herself. The second loss is a part of my childhood
ripping into shreds.
Thanks to Karen Lee for sending me
her obituary. Please follow the link to

Interviews
Most of January was spent on
traveling between cities to do my medical interviews. As you are aware, I’m in the 4th
year of my Medical Undergraduate training and next year, we will be
residents. However, our future paths are
still unknown yet. This year, I have
applied for Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Because Emergency Medicine is a very
competitive field, chances are likely that I will go into Internal
Medicine. However, a ‘uber
geeky’ computer program will determine our fates after we have gone to
all our interviews and ranked our schools.
I have no idea where I will be going yet. (Cross my fingers).
Along the way, I’ve said
‘hello’ to a lot of my friends again. In

Boardgames
Well, just a short blurb on
boardgames this time. I wish to thank
Marisa who gave me Beowulf during the Christmas holidays as well as Richard who
gave me Citadels. I love both games! Thank you so much.
