Non-profit, non-governmental community based organizations that help
families and youth; offers professional counselling, therapy,
consultation, education and other support.
StepTogether
Good
essay section (must reads!) and book list; generally more balanced tone
of the message boards but becoming more venting.
The Second Wives Club
Lots
of helpful information for beginning stepparents (mostly stepmothers);
message board has a venting tone but some useful information too ($10
membership fee).
Collaborative
Divorce BC
Organization that promotes inter-disciplinary and collaborative
approach to divorce which promotes dignity, integrity and long-term
interests of involved family members.
Beyond Divorce
A helpful website by Jean McBride, a blended families expert, with many
good links.
Family
Justice Centres
Provides general information about a number of issues of interest to BC
couples who have separated or who are about to separate. It may also be
useful for guardians and other family members, such as grandparents,
who may be involved in making important decisions about the family and
its future.
Family Mediation Canada
Provides helpful information about conflict mediation.
Separation and Divorce
in BC
A website providing information for BC families experiencing separation
and divorce.
Canadian Grandparents
Rights Association
Promotes, supports, and assists Grandparents and their families in
maintaining or re-establishing family ties and family stability where
the family has been disrupted; especially those ties between
grandparents and grandchildren.
