Victoria's Inner Harbour on a (slightly) foggy day. The Empress Hotel is on the right.

High Tea at the empress. Very civilized, but the tables were not designed for real human legs and feet.

In Courtenay after taking the E & N from Victoria. The prettiest train trip in the country!

Panorama of Esquimalt harbour

Esquimalt is the home of Canada's Pacific Fleet. CFB Esquimalt was established as a base for the Royal Navy in the mid 1800's.

The harbour is clean enough that it's common to see wildlife like seals and otters, and birds such as this heron.

The Fisgard lighthouse marks one side of the harbour mouth. It's now a national historic site.
