| John Stanwix b: 1760 m: Hannah Cooper |
John was probably born in
Cardiff, Wales. The Stanwix's and the Coopers' were well-educated
families. Hannah's brother was the Rev. John Cooper and in reference to a
Rev. Cooper manuscript that William # 8 had in his possession. William #8 wrote: " This same Mr. Cooper must have had a fine library, for my dear old Great Aunt Ann, who would be his niece seemed to have inherited many precious volumes, all with good leather bindings. She brought these books with her to Howfield in 1859 or 1860. I often had the priviledge of reading them before I left England in September 1862. Mr. Cooper preached this sermon that I have at different places in 1787-1797. It was beautifully written" |
