William was a very successful waller and stone
mason, a man of some means and education. Most of his estate e.g. (his
business, was turned over to his sons before his death. He is the master
waller who built St.
Mary's at Wreay. The "Blue Guide to England mentions him. It says
"the Direct Road (A6) goes north to Carlisle via Wreay Church, built
in 1842 on a Bascilican Plan with good cornering by the local stone mason,
William Hindson."
William was living with Jane (the Faulders) when he
died. Some of the details of his will are included in Jane's
information.
