In 1851 Robert and his family were living at Mellguards in a different house from his father. He was 33, a stonemason. Jane is shown as 34, dauhgter Ann as 10; Joseph, 7; Isabella, 2; and John 6 months According to the 1861 Census, Robert and Jane were living at Roughton Gill near Mellguards.
