Gen Name Additional Information
8 John George
b: 1848 in Grimsby, Ont.
m: Elizabeth
Elizabeth was born in 1855 of Scotch (sic) origin, Church of England. In 1881 Census living in Manitoba Extension, District #7, Little Saskatchewan.
John George also served in the 19th Regiment, Lincoln County in 1866 as a private - military file # 4-105. He also received the General Service Medal Registered RG9, 11, A5 Vol 2, 1866-70, p215' His medal was sent to him to Rapid City Manitoba. Date of sending was Oct 22, 1913 (maybe he asked for it when he was 65 years old).

James #8 and John George were very close to the same age. It is believed that they were very close in other ways too, as they seemed to do most things together. They both went out West, whether to farm the same or separate lands is unclear. Anyway it would appear that John George stuck it out and James came home to St. Catherines.  John George is shown in the 1881 Census as being in the Manitoba Extension at 32 years of age. James is shown there also but at age 25 (a discrepency of some sort as he would have been 30 or 31).

This is all that is known about the John George family. Perhaps records out West would assist in the descendants of John Geoge.

9 Francis, b: 1876
