The following dates are of importance to Hope Yama Dojo.


January:

15th (1956) – Tatsuo Shimabuku announces the name of his new style of karate (Isshin Ryu).

18th (1997) – Sensei Norm Losier's first Sho Dan promotion (his daughter, Nikol Losier).

21st (1992) – the first formal (registered) class at Hope Yama Dojo under Sensei Norm.

March:

7th (1996) – Hope Yama Dojo's first Sho Dan promotion (Pat Dagnino).

25th (1938) – birth of A.J. Advincula in Juneau, Alaska.

May:

11th (1941) – birth of Sherman Harrill in Lebanon, Missouri.

30th (1975) – death of Tatsuo Shimabuku in Agena, Okinawa.

September:

19th (1908) – birth of Tatsuo Shimabuku in Chan, Okinawa.

October:

18th (1997) – Hope Yama Dojo hosts its first Shiai.

November:

4th (2002) – death of Sherman Harrill in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

25th (2006) – Sensei Norm promoted to Roku Dan.

December:

1st (1958) – A.J. Advincula meets Master Shimabuku in Okinawa for the first time.
