We live on the Shuswap Arm (one of four arms) of Shuswap Lake. The calm water is ideal for water sports, lakeside activities, and birdwatching (as many as 250 species). One thousand kilometres of meandering shoreline, together with amazing scenery....it doesn’t get any better than this!

There is more to do here than you can imagine!  Sorrento is long renowned for its recreation and retirement lifestyle, with an outstanding artisan community, fabulous water activities, scenic green landscapes, hobby and traditional farms.
Sorrento’s moderate four-season climate offers a championship 18-hole golf course, a driving range, a community par 3 pitch & putt, water sports, fishing, houseboating, hiking, and more.  Ice fishing, sleigh rides, nearby cross country skiing and snowmobiling are popular in the winter months.

From May through October the Sorrento Farmer’s Market on lovely Shuswap Saturday mornings offers local produce, crafts, entertainers and demonstrations. Summer means “hot” and brings weeks of sunshine and fantastic garden growing!  Sorrento is home to the only certified organic brewery in Canada, Crannog Ales, and in neighbouring Tappen, the northern-most vineyard/winery in Canada, Recline Ridge.

The world's largest sockeye salmon run happens right here...just across the bay from us at the mouth of the Adams River. From late September to mid-October, salmon travel from the Pacific Ocean to spawn in the River.  Every four years, the number of returning salmon is in the millions...the next such large run to occur in 2006. There are excellent viewing platforms at Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park.

Best of all, the highlight of our day, each and every day, is to watch the most spectacular sunsets all year long, including dramatic winter skies, from the front deck of our home!
