For the reader:

I am the author of the book, Fallen Behind: Canada’s Access to Information Act in the World Context, a book one reviewer called “by far the most comprehensive comparative analysis to date of Canadian and international access to information laws.”  (This project was sponsored by the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Privacy Association, FIPA, and the B.C. Law Foundation.)

In the course of researching this book, I filed FOI requests to many countries, as a way of measuring the workings of each law.  One of these topics of special interest for me was the Romanian Revolution of 1989. To mark the 30th anniversary of this signature occasion in recent history, I wish to share these results of this research with the Romanian people, in the hopes it may help them to better understand these events.

-          Greetings, from Stanley Tromp, Vancouver, Canada, December 2019.
