Assistance to Transition homes and cases of sanitary products, household items and clothing are provided. Backpacks, toiletries, food packs and warm clothing for street people and youth in crisis centres. Youth groups and camps provided with equipment, swim passes, new roofs, uniforms and transportation. |
Jessie R. Burke Memorial Cancer Fund
established
in 1939. Since that time the fund has built and
furnished the Solarium at the BC Cancer Institute
in Vancouver, and later furnished the new Coffee
Bar, which volunteers staff daily, provided beds,
billiard table
.. In Victoria IODE commissioned
a large picture in memory of Connie Turner, and
refurbished the Main Floor Waiting Room. In Kelowna,
the Southern Interior Cancer Centre, Illuminated
Ceiling photos were provided for radiation rooms
for patients to view while receiving treatment.
All the Cancer Lodges received Golf umbrellas for
protection from the sun as well as the rain. |

This
fund is open for donations; and through Memorial
Cards, gives a means of expressing regret and
sympathy.

Mary Emerson Trust Fund
| established
in 1979, to benefit seniors throughout BC. A total
of over $200,000.00 has been spent on worthy projects
in the following communities Prince Rupert, Penticton,
Summerland, Kelowna, Vernon, Trail, Courtenay, Vancouver,
Kamloops, Victoria, New Westminster. |

1999 Richmond Chapter used the money to decorate
and refurnish the geriatric lounge at the Richmond
Hospital. The chapter members will also provide
fresh plants and current magazines for the lounge
on an ongoing basis. The goal is to provide a warm
and homelike setting for the patients and their
families. The Richmond Chapter says "Thank
you" |

| In 2001 Jessie F. Gordon Chapter of Vancouver was successful in their bid for a maxi lift for St Vincents Hospital. |
The IODE Glaucoma Centre
| built in 1982, as part of the Vancouver General Hospital Eye Centre from $300,000.00 investment. Annually IODE provides funds for equipment and further research. |

the Northern Nursing Stations in BC, Yukon, Nunavut
and North West Territories.
