Personal History
Most
Illustrious Companion Richman was born July 17,
1944 in Montreal, Quebec. He moved to
Central Saanich at a young age and graduated in
1964. He graduated from the British Columbia
Institute of Technology as a Renewable Resource
Manager.
He
married his wife Sharon in 1970 and has a son,
Troy and daughter Marijke. Sharon is a
member of the Amaranth and Marijke is a Past
Honoured Queen and Majority Member of Bethel No.
63.
Most
Illustrious Companion Richman has had a
diversified career having worked at the Hudson Bay
Company, reserve officer in the Canadian Scottish
and Seaforth Highlanders, BC Provincial Government
in forestry engineering and mapping, Department of
Fisheries and Oceans in 1971 and retiring in 2003
as their senior Program Officer. During that
time he also was the Regional Training Officer and
Chief of Enforcement Operations for B.C. & Yukon.
Masonic History
Most
Illustrious Companion Richman was initiated,
passed and raised in Rainbow Lodge No. 180, Port
Hardy, B.C. He affiliated with Tuscan Lodge
No. 138, Coquitlam and was Worshipful Master in
1991.
He was
exalted in Cyrus Chapter No. 10, Courtenay, B.C.
in 1976, affiliated with Mission Chapter No. 28 in
1988 and was First Principal in 1997. In
2005 Most Illustrious Companion Richman was
installed as the Most Excellent Grand First
Principal of British Columbia & Yukon.
In
other concordant bodies he has served as
Provincial Prior for Knights Templar, Allied
Masonic degrees (District Deputy) York Rite
College, Red Cross of Constantine, SRIA (presiding officer), Knight Templar
Priests (officer). He is a Member of Honour,
Past Associate Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters,
a Life Member of the Keystone of Life Foundation
and Royal Arch Masonic Home Society.
In May
2011 he was installed at the Most Illustrious
Grand Master of Royal & Select Masters of Western
Canada.
