These photos and the following information was kindly provided by Patrick Murphy, Grandson of Frederick William Chidlow and Mary Joyce Foster. Thank you Patrick!

Per Patrick:
My grandparents Frederick William and Mary Joyce Chidlow moved to a small farm at Copmere End, Eccleshall, Staffordshire in around 1932 and lived there over 50 years until their deaths. The milk bottle dates from the 1940 /50's when they bottled and delivered the farms milk and distributed it by horse and cart.

Photo is from 1963.

Per Patrick:
The picture is of my grandather. The farm he had was a smallholding with dairy cattle and to supplement the income he worked for a local auctioneer at the weekly stock markets in Eccleshall, Stone, and Uttoxeter. I lived in Eccleshall and can recall going to the market and sitting on the stockyard wall watching the cattle being brought in, weighed and sold. Frederick would, with others, carryout this work under direction of the auctioneer who oversaw from a wooden podium. The 'brand' refered to was a skin dye / paint (not the hot brand I am pleased to report) to show who had bought the beast. Sadly the market is no more and is replaced by houses.
