I was relaxing at the dining room table and enjoying the morning with a cup of tea while watching the sparrows in the tree. We've had a large number hang around our yard this fall. Here are a couple photos I snapped through the window.

Oh my, autumn has arrived. We've been enjoying very warm weather these last number of weeks; which can make you forget that it is September - other than you now cannot escape noticing the red and yellow leaves.

We headed to the foothills on the long weekend and here are a few images from that outing. These images are what I would consider digital art photography and not true photographs. They are a mixture of reality and creative design. (Except the creek image).

Been to busy to upload till now. We had a new visitor to our home on April 18. It was a short stay, but we enjoyed a few minutes. From what I can gather, it appears to be a Merlin Falcon. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Took a day off work to enjoy the great outdoors. Even though it is April, it sure doesn't look like it! The photos are from Upper Kananaskis Lake and Rawson Lake. Photo titles and more details available when you click on the images.

After almost a month without picking up the camera, I finally got out today. Big Hill Provincial Park was the location and fresh snow fall gave us an enjoyable winter day ... in spring. Oh where oh where is spring, until then enjoy a few winter scenes.

Southeast winds often blow in hoar frost. Took a few photos in our yard before the sun melted it away.

I've added this photo to my Kananaskis Collection. It was taken yesterday on the path at Mount Lorette Ponds in Kananaskis. We had gone out for a cross country ski and stopped for lunch here. The amount of detail in the photo is higher than normal due to the HDR technique.
5 photos at different exposures where used to create the large dynamic range. I was also trying an idea of shooting HDR without tripod. Using the continuous frame shooting I shot all 5 photos in 1 second, then using Photoshop to align and crop them.
For interest sake, I've included the original normal exposure image to compare. I wouldn't be surprise that cameras in the future will be able to do this HDR technique in camera. Until then it is a manual digital darkroom process.
The last image is the HDR image in colour. The details and colour saturation has been greatly increased over the original image. The detail that appears with the HDR technique is is quite noticeable under the bridge. This gives you a bit of insight into what happens in the digital darkroom.

Happy New Year! I took these photos over the Christmas holidays, but didn't get a chance to post new photos till now. This year we've had lots of snow and many cold days - great opportunities for winter photos! You'll find additional comments when you enlarge the photo.
