Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Everyone

December 20
Congratulations to Cindy McMann on the purchase of the awesome colt Apollo. Apollo is by the 2001 KWPN Performance Test Champion Riverman and out of Laura Keur Elite Sport Dressage. We wish Cindy and Apollo great success in the future dressage ring. They are going to be a dynamite pair!

December 15

Our mare Sacha has a 1/2 brother Pipkin by Inferno that is now being ridden by Malin Baryard-Johnsson who is a rider on the Swedish team and 2 times to the Olympics. On December 15, 2005 they did am amazing job beating out Arko III, Luidam, Mondriaan and Andiamo Z to name a few in the Welcome Warm-Up class at the London International Horse Show. Wow!!! We really need to start competing Sacha and develop her natural talent but she produces such amazing foals each year it is hard to stop breeding her.

We are generally a 'girl farm' and don't usually keep the boys so for a short time we are reducing Apollo's price. Since he has been weaned he has really started to steal some hearts around here with his big bright eyes looking over the fence every time he see you. He is a real gentleman and will be a big boy with a heart of gold.

Weaning started a few weeks ago and the foals are doing great.  They are super affectionate and love the all the human attention they can get.

September 6
The new videos have all been uploaded to the website sales page - sorry for the delay. Things have been really hectic around here with building our new place. We are happy to say we now have a driveway!!!  Pastures, pens, shelters, etc... coming soon.

Also the Alberta Keuring at Sylvan Lake has been cancelled.  We are hopeful there will be one there next year and we will be bringing our horses.

August 7
Sorry to everyone in the delay of the videos but they should be completed within the next day or 2. It is such a pleasure to video such beauty - it is memorizing to watch. We are building our new farm this year and life has been super busy along with breeding our mares for the first time.

We have uploaded some new pictures on the sales page - more to come with videos too.

Atacha (Metall)
During KWPN Horse Days at the end of August in Holland Metall will have the second largest number of horses represented with 17 offspring.  Pretty remarkable for a young sire.

July 7
With our new ultrasound machine we did our first frozen semen breeding and we are ecstatic to say Laura is in foal to Flemmingh for 2006. To see the embryo on the ultrasound machine is the ultimate feeling as a breeder. This foal will be a full brother/sister to Wituara.

Polina delivered a beautiful bay filly, Avelina, by Olivi on June 29.  She is an amazing jewel and so pretty.

Congratulations to Allison of La PrairieAire Warmbloods on one very special filly!

~ Our long awaited jewel ~
Allianda
Wellington x Flemmingh

We were quite surprised to see yet another one of our mares foaling outside during the day. We watch them on monitors all night and this year 2 mares have foaled during the day. Lianda had a gorgeous dark bay filly with 2 hind socks at 6:25pm yesterday evening. We are so in love with this filly. She is very feminine, perfectly put together and so friendly. We were thinking of breeding Lianda to Prestige this year but we may have to get some more Wellington semen after seeing this filly.

This filly is closely related to Witaura who is vice versa: Flemmingh x Wellington.  She is also closely related to her very successful 1/2 sister Riant (see news below from May 18) who is by Farrington (sire Wellington). Very proven bloodlines in this filly.

We have 2 additions to our Dutch horses. The sale of Weltina did not complete due to unfortunate circumstances for the buyer. We are thrilled to have our very talented poster girl stay with us. Weltina turns heads everywhere she goes not only with her presence but her amazing temperment.

We are also very fortunate to aquire an exceptional ster mare from some of the top proven bloodlines in Dutch breeding. Polina is by Olympic Lancet out of a Doruto x Amor dam. Olympic Lancet was very successful at the Athens Olympics and was awarded 4th place in the World ranking list for Dressage sires in 2004. The Doruto x Amor combination from Polina's dam is legendary for dressage with the example of the mare Olympic Barbria (Doruto x Amor) who was twice on the Dutch Olympic Dressage team. Polina is due to foal an Olivi foal in a few weeks.

Are you seeing double? Atacha and Apollo are best of friends with Atacha leading him around.

~ Our latest jewel ~
Apollo
Riverman (KWPN)  x Wellington

Laura, our Elite Sport mare, had a big strong colt this morning by the KWPN 2001 Test Champion Riverman. He is a bright bay with a star and 3 socks. He already has the most affectionate personality and is so easy going with everything. Atacha now has a playmate. Pictures coming soon!

May 18
We received some amazing news about Lianda's daughter Riant, in Holland. Riant has received her Sport predicate. She is now a Keur Elite Sport Dressage mare competing at Z2 dressage. Riant also competed in the PAVO Cup in 2003 with scores in the 70s and this was only her 3rd show. She was ridden by Alex van Silfhout (once member of the Dutch team). We expect great things from Lianda's foal by Wellington this year.

Our newest jewel, Atacha, is doing wonderful and is growing in leaps and bounds. Sacha loves her foals so much and plays with them all the time.

~ Our newest jewel ~
Atacha
Metall x Olympic  Ahorn
Atacha

At 6:06am Wednesday morning Sacha delivered a jewel.  An absolute stunning bay filly by Metall with 4 bright white socks and a star.  She has the most beautiful feminine head with long legs and a body made to move.  We couldn't be happier!   Sacha produces such amazing foals each year. Not only are they stunning, their personalities win you over every time.  Pictures coming soon...

We have also been moving these past few weeks and are a bit backed up with email. We will try and reply to everyone as soon as we are able.  We are so excited about our new place and all the new lush green pasture land for the horses.  Spring is finally here!

April 7
It has been awhile and so much has happened. First we went to the NA/WPN meeting in Lexington, Kentucky. It was a well organized and very informative event. It was great to finally meet all those fellow Dutch horse enthusiasts! The silent auction was very lively and we came away with some fabulous VDL items. The tours of the Kentucky horse farms were amazing. It opened our horizons to a whole other area of the horse industry. Great people and lots of fun!

Next, we are moving. We have acquired 160 acres plus more for grazing and are in the process of building a new facility.  The most important feature is being built first - the barn!  Who needs a house anyway right?

January 29
Hope everyone is enjoying the new year!  The weather for a few weeks was unbelievably cold but we are now enjoying some sunshine.

The mares are looking quite pregnant and we are getting so excited to see the foals. Sacha will foal first sometime in late April - early May, then Laura and Lianda.  At the moment we are only thinking of breeding Lianda next year and put Sacha and Laura into competition.  Now if we can just make it through the upcoming breeding season without temptation - what a challenge!!!

Before the snow came we took some updated pictures of Witaura and were spellbound by her. Laura and Flemmingh produced one dynamite filly. Check out the pictures: Fall 2004 Witaura
