Bridges
The above photograph demonstrates how a bridge can be made to blend in with your very own natural teeth. Here, a bridge has been placed to fill a space (caused by a missing tooth).
The missing tooth is actually this one.
In order for a bridge to be placed, the teeth adjacent to the space (missing tooth) have to be prepared.
The bridge is actually one solid piece, comprised of three different components - an end component, a middle component, and another end component. The middle component replaces the missing tooth/teeth; the end components are secured to the prepared teeth - like that of single crowns. The resulting bridge looks like this:

The bridge is then adhered to the prepared teeth. The benefits of a bridge are obvious. A bridge is a fixed structure - which cannot be dislodged while speaking or eating. Also, unlike a denture, the bridge does not need to be removed daily for cleansing. It does, however, need to be brushed and flossed - just like your own natural teeth.
