The purpose of the concert was:
  • To bring together a community of people who care about how we coexist with other intelligent beings on this planet, and who care about the suffering of captive whales and dolphins at the Vancouver Aquarium and wish to see an end to this barbaric practice. Thus the evening had a sense of coming together for a higher purpose.
  • To make a statement to the citizens of Vancouver, so that our community is reminded that this issue will never go away as long as the Vancouver Aquarium keeps cetaceans in captivity and plans to bring in more captives.
  • To raise funds which will be used to continue putting pressure on the Vancouver Aquarium through on-going protests and information dissemination. More specifically to organise a summer of protests at the Aquarium.
  • To recruit more people to engage in protests, or to help in some other way.
