Whale Friends engages in public information campaigns, public protests and non-violent civil disobedient actions. Whale Friends believes that a international activist network is needed to put an end to the incarceration of whales and dolphins in aquariums and theme parks around the world. Whale Friends aims to co-operate with other organizations with similar goals.

Whale Friends acts on the understanding that other than for the purposes of rehabilitation of injured or sick individuals, there is no scientific, educational or moral justification for keeping whales and dolphins in human made facilities. Whales and dolphins are born to be wild.

Whale friends relies on donations for its funding. There is no paid staff or overhead, and all funds raised go directly towards expenses incurred manifesting protests aand campaign events.
