We live in a beautiful area with great neighbors. What more could you want?

This is our home in Cedar Heights. If you stand at the end of the drive you can see Shuswap Lake.

Shuswap Lake

Sorrento sits on the south shore of beautiful Shuswap Lake, 28 km west of Salmon Arm and 80 km east of Kamloops.

The moderate four-season climate offers perfect weather for golf, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, water-skiing, house boating, and in the winter, ice-fishing, outdoor skating, sleigh rides, and nearby, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Shuswap Lake is shaped like an addled H and is made up of four large arms: the Shuswap Lake Main Arm, Salmon Arm, Anstey Arm, and Seymour Arm. The product of the glacial scouring that also rounded the surrounding Shuswap Highlands, all four arms converge at Cinnemousun Narrows, northeast of Sicamous.

The area has retained a unique rural quality that is reflected in the richness and diversity of the communities throughout the Shuswap. Residents have a keen sense of pride and satisfaction in protecting their quality of life. It is this balance that appeals to residents and visitors alike.

We have a Grebe Festival which is centered around the nesting of the Western Grebe; a small
crane-like marshland dweller, which nests in only two locations in BC, one of which is Salmon Arm.

The Grebes arrive in April to make their nests among the reeds and grasses in the marshy water of the Salmon Arm bay of Shuswap Lake. During the mating season, two adults pair up and skim across the water, as if in a dance.
