November 28, 2004 The "Perfect Place" by Marcel Chartier Sometime I think that the best way to motivate yourself is to envision what the "perfect place" would be for the proverbial "you". What would that be? Well in order to help you know what that is for you I think the best process would be to describe what I think the "perfect place" would be for me. The "perfect place" for me isn't an actually place or building ... it’s a place where I can have a certain sense of security, with the greatest sense of freedom. I want to have a place that is mine - paid off, all mine. Ever seen the bumper sticker that says "Laugh all you want, its paid off"? Well, thats Ok with me. Knowing I don't have to plow all kinds of cash into a home after a certain point warms me all over. Secondly, I want to be able to take that extra cash and have some fun with it - without guilt. So to do this guilt free, I want to have a nest egg that, thought it may not be mature, in all probability will become mature within an average decade. In other words, I want to have a situation that has all the components and the probability for "freedom". And what do I mean by that? Well, freedom to choose what I want to do, for example, maybe choose to work part-time, or start a part time business, or travel. And, I want to be able to have the financial ability to do so without jeopardizing my home or my ability to retire. The combination of debt freedom, and unpredictable income can still add up to a great life. Be free from stress! The areas where most stress is experienced is usually related to work or finances, choosing what kind of work you want to do and not having debt is one way of seriously reducing life's stresses! Doesn't this sound like a perfect place? A place where if you do work its work you want, or work that allows life to be great? A place where you really aren't worried about the next buck, or what would happen when you have trouble with the bills? That truly is a " perfect place. " I don't think I need more than this ... for some more would be nice, but ultimately achieving the core needs will free me to explore the more rewarding fun stuff - maybe I'll go into acting ... make music ... pottery? Ah who knows! And that's the point! © julymoon.com |
