Falina is a gorgeous triple registered dark bay mare with a wonderful temperament and excellent Spanish conformation. She has good bone (19cm cannons) straight, forward movement, is very willing, and has the typical 'sweetheart' temperament the Andalusian is famous for.

She's a great mom and has had 3 gorgeous foals for her previous owners...2 by the Axis/Ingrato sons, Avitar and DS Domino, and one by Altanero D....plus 2 wonderful foals for me...an incredible 2006 filly by Gavilan IV and an amazing 2008 colt by Feudal VIII.

Falina is trained to second level dressage and was successfully shown as a young mare - both under saddle and in halter.  She is also a great trail horse and has been in several parades.

Falina has the blood of several outstanding breeders in her veins...Cardenas, Escalera, Terry, Paco Lazo, and Yeguada Militar.  She was bred by Carole Sievers of Chalk Hill Andalusians in California.

Falina's sire, the black PRE stallion, Guarapo, was imported from Mexico to the US as a weanling and has had a successful breeding and show career there.  Guarapo's sire, Genil, a pure Bocado/Terry stallion bred by Miguel Ángel de Cárdenas in Spain, was exported to Mexico and was a Champion of Champions in both Spain and Mexico.  Guarapo's dam, Intrusa II, is a black treasure from the prestigious farm of Maria Fernanda de la Escalera in Spain who are known for their exceptionally functional black and bay horses.

Falina's dam, Catalina Real, was bred by Bill and Karen Goff of Camino Real Farm.

Catalina's sire, Canastero IX, was bred by Francisco Lazo Diaz, and is half brother to the renowned stallion, Cordobes XX....the subject of several photos in Robert Vavra's books.  Their sire, Poseido V, was a rare bay pure Bocado bred stallion bred by the Terry Stud and bought by
Fernando (Paco) Lazo in Spain as a foundation stallion.  Poseido V was the 1989 Reserve Champion of Spain.

Catalina's dam, Espanola de la Parra, was bred by one of the foundation breeders of Andalusians in the US....The Parra's of San Antonio, Texas....as was her sire, Boticario.  Boticario was the 1991 IALHA National Champion Halter Stallion, was a multiple time movement champion, was trained to High-School dressage, and was featured in the book by Robert Vavra entitled "Horses of the Sun".

Falina had an amazing dark bay colt on July 2, 2008, by the fabulous 16.2hh black imported PRE stallion, Feudal VIII, owned by Glenn and Sharon Hittner of Blue Moon Andalusians.  Feudal is by the Guardiola stallion, Becario V, and Feudal, himself, is a successful dressage stallion. This colt is very upright, sweet, and sure of himself.  He is looking for a good home...please see our sales page for more information.....

Falina is in foal to the bay 16hh Bravio XVI son, Gaston, for a May 2010 foal.  Check back for more information in the spring...

Falina came to us from Stephanie Ross and Alan Crouch in Escalon, California, and arrived March 2, 2006. We are truly honoured to have her here and would like to express our deepest gratitude to Stephanie and Alan for making it a reality for us!
