2006 Pure Spanish FIlly
Reg'd with IALHA
INSCRIBED - PRE MUNDIAL

'Indy' is a gorgeous double registered deep bay filly with incredible movement...she is straight moving yet very animated.  She has a great build...very muscular and round....and we expect she will mature to 15.3hh.  Indy is a talker and greets us daily with a nicker as soon as she hears us from wherever she is in the pasture.  She seeks human attention and is very calm and gentle yet she has the spark of a performance horse in her eye.

Indy has amazing bloodlines and, along with her incredible conformation and temperament, we feel she has the qualities of an exceptional broodmare for our program.

Indy was bred by Stephanie Ross and Alan Crouch of Fantasia Espanola in California and purchased by us in-utero, along with her dam, Falina CH, in February of 2006.

Indy's dam, Falina CH, is a beautiful black-bay mare by Guarapo (Genil) and out of a Canastero IX (by Poseido V) daughter.  You can read more about Falina and her lineage on her page

Indy's sire is the magnificent Gavilan IV, a solid bay 16.2hh imported PRE revised stallion bred by Pedro Maza and currently owned by David and Jackie Suechting of Camass PRE in Fair Play, California.  Gavilan's lineage is filled with noted breeders like Lovera, Escalera, Terry, Lazo, and Yeguada Militar.  Gavilan has been successfully shown in open dressage by his owners.

Gavilan  has three crosses to the famous Maluso from the Military stud.  Maluso was born at Yeguada Militar but his sire, Lebrero, was a Muira bred horse (Muira horses are bred to fight bulls.  The Muiras breed their horses to resemble the classic Andalusian - powerful, with exceptional bone, yet very elegant).  Because of Maluso's excellent confirmation, his photo was used as the cover for one of the earlier editions of the Spanish studbook ...which is truly a tribute from the horsemen of his day.

Gavilan is also an Albero II grandson who was known for his superior movement and is

one of the most influential stallions for functionality. The Albero II line is considered to be a golden line because of the remarkable number of offspring that excel under saddle and in the dressage ring. Bred by Francisco Lazo Diaz (the Paco lazo line) and the purchased by the yeguada Militar in Jerez where he stood to the mares of Spain.  Besides functionality, the Albero II line produces good bone and great hip angles and length.

Indy has a few years to just grow up and be a horse before she becomes a broodmare for us.  She is an excellent example of a quality pure Spanish Andalusian and we think she will produce outstanding offspring with a complimenting stallion.
