'Maggie' is a wonderfully tempered triple registered people-loving mare with bold, powerful movement. She's not an overly tall mare but her excellent bone (21cm cannons), quiet presence, and big, round-bodied Spanish conformation make her seem much larger.  She has the distinct iridescent white coat of the classic Andalusian...she 'glows'....

This girl has a great personality and a wonderful sense of humour.  She is a 'water baby' and is often seen pulling the float valve out of the automatic waterer because she thinks it's 'fun' to play with the stream of water with her lips.  She also enjoys a good roll in the fish pond ...to the dismay of the fish.

Maggie was bred by Delia Kramer of Standel Farm of Sicamous, BC.  Maggie's pedigree is primarily comprised of Carthusian/Bocado/ Terry blood.  The Carthusian/ Bocado/Terry Andalusian is the prototypical warhorse we all think of when we think of 'Andalusians'.... this line is known for their beauty, their baroqueness, their abundant mane and tail, and their sweet temperaments....all qualities that Maggie has undeniably inherited.

Maggie is a rare Dacio S daughter.  He was one of the highest appointed stallions ever exported from Spain and scored 94 points in his evaluation as a 3 year old!  He was a Carthusian/Bocado/Terry stallion that came from Pedro Salas' farm in Mallorca, Spain, and was owned by Barbara Currie in the US.

Maggie's dam, Aurelia A, has Banbury breeding on both sides of her pedigree.
Sally Cleaver of Banbury Cross Farm, a pioneer for the Andalusian breed in North America, bred horses known for their talent, presence, exceptional movement, and classic Spanish type.  Aurelia was the only purebred offspring of her sire, Banbury Nicholas (who sadly passed in January of 2008 and was owned and loved by Marguerite Little for his entire life), making Maggie's bloodline even more precious and unique.  Nicholas had a very successful show career and was loved by all who had the pleasure to meet him.

Maggie's Banbury lines are primarily
Carthusian/Bocado/ Terry but also a small amount of  Yeguada Militar and Escalera as well.

Maggie's great-great grandsire is Calleroso de Nevasco on her dam's side (for more information on him, see Camelia's lineage information).

Maggie had a grey filly by the incomparable Indiano XVIII who stands at Blue Moon Ranch in Gavilan Hills, California, on June 25, 2009.  Indiano is an international champion winning Champion of Spain twice and Champion and Best Movement in Mexico.  What a complete thrill to have a chance to breed one of our mares to an international legend and we would like to thank Glenn and Sharon Hittner and the rest of the Indiano XVIII Syndicate immensely for this incredible opportunity...this filly is a keeper!

We bought Maggie from Alberta in April of 2004. We think she is wonderful, we are blessed to have her, and we welcome her wholeheartedly into our family.
