Being from Canada, of course, means creating the obligatory page of stuff related my great homeland.
Ok, so you clicked on the word Canuck wondering what the heck it meant. Here is a little FYI on the word.

I always believed the term was based on a 1940's comic book hero named Johnny Canuck. But after doing a little cyber-digging the term "Johnny Canuck" appears to have references as far back as 1869. The National Library of Canada (a very nice website incidentally) has some good references to Johnny Canuck and the 1940's comic book hero.

For a good laugh, and some insite into what it is to be Canadian, you can view a couple of TV ads that aired in Canada in the year 2000. Just click any of the links below to see these videos in the area on the right.
This was a highly popular beer ad for Molson Canadian that first aired in the spring of 2000. It was an instant hit and so popular that the term "Canadian Rant" became commonly used. The ad spoofed some of the misconceptions Americans have about Canada and joked about some cultural differences between us hosers and our friends to the south.
This TV ad was a spoof of the highly popular "I Am Canadian" Molson beer ad (above). It was created by Toronto radio station Edge102 (call letters CFNY). The ad pokes fun at French Canadian stereotypes and is indicative of some of the diversity between English and French Canada.
As an aside for fans of the band Rush, the song "The Spirit of Radio" released in 1979 was written about the Edge102 radio station. The station has always been on the leading edge of the music scene.
