When NetAcquire starts, the NetAcquire Window is displayed. Within the window is the Communication sub-window. In order to play games, a communication link must be established between potential players.
To achieve this, one of the players must first become a 'host' to which other players will 'connect'. The host is the central point to which all other players will connect. This can be visualized as a hub (host) with spokes (connectors). The host does all the work of running games, the connectors simply communicate information back and forth with the host.
The Communication window is therefore used to either 'Become A Host' or 'Connect To A Host'. Once the Go button is pushed, a user starts a NetAcquire 'session'.
