Branching coralline algae

Latin Name: Bossiella; corallina
Geographic Range: Species of coralline algae are found in both the Atlantic and the Pacific, and maybe other oceans for all I know.
SCUBA Divers Info:
Coralline algae does not look much like an algae and that is because it has calcium in it's tissues. It looks more akin to coral than a plant. The branching species of this algae seems to perfer surge and can for very intricate structures.
**B**Beachwalkers Info:
You will often find pieces of branching coralline algae washed up on the beach where they bleach white.
