High cockscomb
Latin Name:	Anoplarchus purpurescens
Geographic Range:	Range is from the Bering Sea to southern California

Its rare that I see this little fish, probably because it spends most of it's time under rocks and such. You can tell it from a gunnel because it has no line through the eye and a 'comb' on its forehead (this is not the best photo of the comb).
Beachwalkers Info:
This animal does not inhabit the intertidal zone so you are very unlikely to find it beachwalking or tidepooling.
