| California mussel |
 |
| Latin Name: |
myltius californianus |
| Geographic Range: |
I really don't know the range of this animal. Because of it's name I'd assume British Columbia to California but it may be greater. Anyone got the right info? |
| SCUBA Divers Info: |
| A BIG mussel, eight to twelve inches long and very heavy looking. They are found in areas of high current or surge usually in shallows, so if you see them while scuba diving your probably having a fun ride. |
Beachwalkers
Info: |
| It is probably possible to see this animal from shore on a low tide but due to the strong currents and surge it prefers you are risking drowning if you go looking for it. |
