Geographic Range: Range is from Alaska to northern California

Often overlooked by divers because it hides in crevices or under boulders the Crescent gunnel is one of several members of this family. You can identify it by the line through it's eye which is white lined with black above the eye and solid black below. You can also look at the shape of the marks on the dorsal fin. The maximum size is about 8 inches
**B**Beachwalkers Info:
At very low tides look under rocks for the crescent gunnel. This little fish can often be found in the small amount of water that remains under rocks at low tide. Remember to replace any rocks you disturb.
