Latin Name: Melibe leonina
Geographic Range: Range is from Alaska to Baja.
SCUBA Divers Info:
This is the only member of the melibe group of nudibranchs. It can be identified by its large oral veil which it uses to traps it's food. the hooded nudibranch is found in shallow water attached to kelp or Eel grass often in large concentrations. It is seasonally abundant, most common in the spring.
**B**Beachwalkers Info:
This animal does not usually inhabit the intertidal zone so you are very unlikely to find it beachwalking or tidepooling.
