Giant swimming nudibranch

Latin Name: Dendronotus iris
Geographic Range: Range is from Alaska to Baja.
SCUBA Divers Info:
A relatively common nudibranch in B.C. this species one can get over 12 inches long when stretched out. Found on sandy bottoms, it eats tubedwelling anemones, if you get the chance it is a real treat to watch one attack and anemone. If disturbed this nudibranch will "swim" by undulating it's body.
**B**Beachwalkers Info:
This animal does not usually inhabit the intertidal zone so you are very unlikely to find it beachwalking or tidepooling.
